چکیده

multi gene family), showed significant sequence and structural similarity to Cyn d 1. This protein was expressed in E. coli and the recombinant protein did not react with serum IgE from grass pollen allergic patients, suggesting that EXPB1 represented a non-allergenic homologue of grass group 1 allergens. It is proposed that differences in the amino acid sequence are responsible for the difference in the allergenicity profile of the Arabidopsis and grass pollen proteins. Conclusions: Our study provides valuable data for further investigations of the molecular basis of allergenicity and cross-reactivity of grass group 1 allergens.

Prevalence of cypress pollen sensitization and its clinical importance in Izmir, Turkey, with cypress allergy assessed by nasal provocation.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Pollens from the Cupressaceae family are considered important allergens in the Mediterranean area, though reports of the prevalence of allergic symptoms have ranged from 1.04% to 35.4%. Our aim was to detect the prevalence of cypress pollen sensitization and determine its clinical importance in patients with seasonal respiratory allergy. METHODS We used skin prick tes...

Efficacy of sublingual specific immunotherapy in Cupressaceae allergy using an extract of Cupressus arizonica. A double blind study.

BACKGROUND non-injective routes of immunotherapy in respiratory allergy have being proposed as an alternative to conventional immunotherapy. We carried out a study to evaluate the clinical efficacy and effects sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) in patient with Cupressaceae pollen respiratory allergy. METHODS twenty patients with Cupressaceae pollen (C. sempervirens) rhinoconjunctivitis, mild ast...

IgE Reactivity to Common Cypress (C. Sempervirens) Pollen Extracts: Evidence for Novel Allergens

BACKGROUND : Cypress pollen is becoming an increasing cause of respiratory allergy in some regions worldwide. OBJECTIVE : The aim of this study was to determine some of the main allergens implicated in the common cypress (C. sempervirens) pollen allergy. METHODS : Pollen extracts were optimized by using some detergents and chaotropes in order to solubilize both water and non-water soluble p...

Molecular Cloning, Characterization, and Expression of Cuc m 2, a Major Allergen in Cucumis melo

Background: Several studies reported the clinical features of IgE-mediated hypersensitivity after ingestion of melon. Melon allergy is a common IgE-mediated fruit allergy in Iran. This prompted us to investigate immunochemical and molecular properties of the major allergen in melon fruit, to compare the IgE-binding capacity of the natural protein with the recombinant allergen, and to determine ...

Complementarity between microarray and immunoblot for the comparative evaluation of IgE repertoire of French and Italian cypress pollen allergic patients.

Cypress pollen represents the primary cause of respiratory allergies in Mediterranean areas. Patients allergic to Cupressus sempervirens pollen (Cups) (CPA) can be discriminated on the basis of the immunoglobulin E (IgE) binding to a basic 14 kDa protein (BP14) or to high-molecular-weight (HMW) glycoproteins only. Specific IgE repertoires of two differentially exposed CPA cohorts, French and It...
